Mine Restarts Northwest of Thunder Bay – 200 workers Called Back

According to the October edition of the Labour Market Monitor for Northwestern Ontario, the North American Palladium mine northwest of Thunder Bay has been restarted in October. Approximately 200 workers have been recalled at the Lac des Iles mine and with a new shaft being constructed that will reach a new ore body below the existing pit, the expectation is that the mine will be open for at least the next 10 years.
